Woohoo! Finally got this group up and running (though in desperate need of
members). This took way longer than expected, but I'm happy with the outcome.
The team works perfectly together, and I couldn't be more happy with whom the
team is comprised of. Before I get to introducing everyone to the group, some
special thanks are in order. The first thanks goes to Saku, who not only came up
with a list of names (meaning she really named it, people), but she also helped
me come up with some content and future additions to the group's activities (she
came up with the 'Listener's Choice' idea). The second thanks goes to
Erdbeermilch, who designed the layout and header graphics. She did a marvelous
job, and I couldn't be more impressed with it. Great job, Anja! And
last, but not least, a big thanks to Pande who coded the whole layout and helped
me get the content up (I'm a useless idiot when it comes to coding ). Fantastic job, everyone! Now let's get out there and make all of our effort
come to fruition by making this an active and awesome group.
Now, for those of you who don't know anything about this place....
Depths-of-Sound is a group dedicated to music. Not just music, however, but how
it inspires our wallpapers, vectors, and/or doujinshi. Let's face it folks,
everyone listens to some form of music. And the great thing about DoS is that it
doesn't matter what genre you listen to, or where it originates - all of it is
welcomed with outstretched arms.
When not submitting or creating art, DoS is also a place where you may share
your musical interests with others. The whole point is to create a place that is
musically diverse. MT already has several groups created specifically for a
single group or genre. But what Minitokyo lacks, is a community in which any
lover of music can get together to discuss musical differences. I, as well as
the DoS staff, encourage you to explore the vastness of music.
To aid this, I will have a bi-weekly article about a certain band/performer to
help introduce musically sheltered individuals to new and exciting things. Sure,
some of you will be fans or recognize the band in the article, but many won't.
At first, this article will be primarily done by me. But in the future, I hope
my fellow staff members will help me with the task (Erdbeermilch already
expressed possible interest).
Once we get more members, we will start a Listener's Choice sort of award. We
staff members will pick a hand full of bands (probably more popular ones), and
hold a contest. All of the members will then vote for their favorite. The winner
will receive the title of Listener's Choice, and will remain on the group
frontpage until a new contest is held (we do not know how long that will be at
the moment). A small description of the band will be included, as well as some
links to sample songs (in case you've never heard of them and are
interested).
All of this is on the frontpage. Feel free to ask any of the admins if you have
any questions, or just post in the announcement.
So, if Depths-of-Sound piqued your interest, please join. You won't regret it!
My camera has night vision like that. =P
And the cameraman explained why he was carrying it around - to document the
incident. I would do the same exact thing (but I doubt my camera is as large as
that one. Also, you'd be surprised how long a battery could last.
I agree with ArtificialRaindrop. Though I'm probably the only person who liked
how it was filmed. I liked that it moved around realistically. It made it more
important to use your ears to know what's going on.
And Rain, I wanted to shove the people out of the way to see the broadcasts as
well!
I thought you meant track runners. In which case, I would've said Hasukawa from
Here is Greenwood.
As far as car drivers go... I'd go with.... Maggie from R.O.D the TV, because
that's the only character I can think of from an anime I've seen who drives.
From what I've read, Kojima has stated that MGS4 is the last Metal Gear Solid
game. That doesn't mean he'll make some Metal Gear _____ games, set in the same
universe and such.
And Kojima has expressed interest in another Snatcher game.... possibly a remake
or something. Details on that are kinda vague....
I personally vote against 100x100 avatars, seeing how an emphasise is on scans,
wallpapers, and artwork, rather than a user's avatar. I have a lot of
suggestions that I'll email to ya, Sheqel (or whoever's adress is the one you
supplied us beta testers).
So wait, none of our layouts will work anymore? Will we be able to make new
ones? Because I'm working on a new one right now. Should I just put that project
on hold if it's not gonna work in the near future?
Of course a boy and a girl can be best friends. That's like questioning if
peanutbutter can be paired with jelly.
Gender doesn't matter when it comes to friendship. You're both humans and share
the same interests, so what's the matter? Is it because most people view the
relationship between opposite sexes as purely romantic? Can't be that, because
what about homosexuality?
I don't mean to be rude or anything, but your friends seem a little... what's
the nicest word I could use.... dumb. P=
I had made one, but it contained a western cartoon character, so it was
quarantined. I might make another one if I have time though. I wanna participate
really bad, but my list of projects have grown, and some are super important. =S

Alone at night
I feel so strange
I need to find
All the answers to my dreams
When I sleep at night
I hear the cries
What does this mean?
I shut the door and traveled to another home
I met an older man, he seemed to be alone
I felt that I could trust him
He talked to me that night;
Lad did you know a girl was murdered here?
This fatal tragedy was talked about for years
Victorias gone forever
Only memories remain
She passed away
She was so young
Without love
Without truth
There can be no turning back
Without faith
Without hope
There can be no peace of mind
As the night went on
I started to find my way
I learned about a tragedy
A mystery still today
I tried to get more answers
But he said, youre on your own.
Then he turned away and left me
As I stand there all alone
He said, youll know the truth
As you future days unfold
Without love
Without truth
There can be no turning back
Without faith
Without hope
There can be no peace of mind
Now it is time to see how you died. remember that death is not the end, but only
a transition.

Now, it's hard to explain why I like these lyrics. :/
Oh, and matthe106, I'm like you in that I listen to most everything. If ya ever
wanna compare musical likes, or if you're interested in any good, obscure bands
(that you may or may not know about) PM me or leave me a comment in my
guestbook. (Don't expect a reply right away - I'm a busy guy).
I see your point. But the Ghost in the Shell part of the vector is
anime-related. Or does that not count, even though that's the focus of the
piece? Also, there are a few galleries that are western, such as the Halo video
game gallery. Now it must seem like I'm causing trouble, lol. It's just that I
really wanted this to be my contest entry, and technically, it is half
anime-related. If ya wanna get into specifics, that should count. It's also
could express a unity between the two cultures, which is creative. But whatever,
lol, I'll stick by your decision, even though it could fit the anime-relatedness
by a technicality. P:
Hm, I didn't know that vectors and wallpapers needed to be anime/video game
related. I mean, I've seen some wallpapers that don't look anime related.... but
they are more artsy.
Okay... not really understanding why this was deleted. According to the
automated messege, it claims that it was poorly planned out or something. Which
is something I don't really understand. Is it because Roger isn't from an anime?
Then it says that the item was traced? Now, how can anyone know that? I said
that the clothing and hair was drawn by my brother, and that the rest was a
vector. So how can anyone assume that anything was traced? For one, my brother
doesn't trace, and I don't even draw.... so kinda wondering where that
assumption came from.
I'm not mad or anything with it getting deleted.... more like confused. I just
don't like it when items get deleted that had a lot of thought planned out,
that's all. Any answers would be great. =3
Bi-weekly means one every two weeks. That's perfect, I think (I originally planned to do it weekly @_@)
